Not every move needs four men and a Luton. A room, a studio, a sofa bought off Marketplace, the contents of a storage unit — those are man-and-van jobs, and paying full removal rates for them is a waste of your money.
What you get is a van and either one or two movers, depending on what has to be carried and how far it has to come. Two is the usual answer where there are stairs, because one person and a wardrobe is how furniture gets damaged and backs get hurt.
The price is fixed, the same as every other job we do. That matters more here than anywhere else, because the hourly meter is standard in the man-and-van trade and it rewards exactly the wrong thing. If we underestimate your job, that is our problem. You already know the number.

One fixed price
No hourly meter running while we wait for keys. The price on your quote is the price you pay.
One or two movers
We will tell you which your job needs and why. If one is genuinely enough, we will not sell you two.
Wrapped, not rushed
Blankets, mattress covers, sofa wrap and floor runners come on every van as standard.
Collections too
Marketplace, eBay, a warehouse, a shop that will not deliver. Give us the address and the seller's number and we will pick it up.
Parking made clear
Parking is your responsibility, but we will tell you exactly how much space the van needs and whether to book a bay suspension with your council.
Same faces
The person who surveys your home leads your crew on the day. We never pass jobs to subcontractors.

How far from the van
A ground-floor flat by the kerb and a third-floor walk-up down a long communal corridor are different jobs, even with identical furniture.
Stairs at either end
How many flights, and whether the turn at the top is tight. This is the single biggest thing that changes a man-and-van price.
Whether anything comes apart
A bed frame or a wardrobe that has to be dismantled adds time. We can do it — just say so in advance so it is on the price.
